Reem Shaikh Opens Up About The Unfair Treatment On Sets, Says ‘A Little Respect Is What I’m Demanding’
Beginning her career as a child artist in various shows like 'Chakravartin Ashok Samrat' and 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,' Reem Shaikh gained prominence as the lead in 'Tujhse Hai Raabta.' Her path to success, however, wasn't without challenges. In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, the 'Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal' actress candidly discussed her hurdles and limitations during her acting career. In an open conversation with the news portal, Reem expressed, "Even after working for about fifteen years in the industry, I still struggle to receive the same level of respect as other older leads on a show. I believe it's unfair; I hold a lead role and should be treated with equal respect on set. However, due to my age, I often feel underestimated."

Reem discussed the disparities she faces on set, particularly in the considerable difference in pay scales, stating that she felt unfairly treated. She pointed out that higher authorities often overlook her during their visits, dismissing her opinions and feedback due to her age, assuming, "She's just a child, why bother asking her?" Expressing another instance of unequal treatment, she highlighted the lack of a single-door vanity van for her, despite providing the same facilities to other lead actors. Reem emphasized that her extensive work and performance should warrant such considerations.

Reem Shaikh is gearing up to join an upcoming web series, sharing the screen with Jennifer Winget and Karan Wahi. She played Malala Yousafzai in the film Gul Makai which didn't do well at the box office. The film featured Atul Kulkarni, Divya Dutta, the late actor Om Puri, Arif Zakaria, Mukesh Rishi and Abhimanyu Singh.
